The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2019 plans to set up about 50 formal discussions, including the opening meeting, sub-forums, CEO dialogues, roundtable meetings, etc. Five major sections are proposed for specific topics: including an open world economy, multilateralism, regional cooperation, global governance, innovation-driven, high-quality development, and hot frontiers. the
Li Baodong, secretary-general of the Boao Forum for Asia, said that the world economy grew moderately in 2018, but the momentum slowed down. The growth trends and monetary policies of major economies are clearly differentiated, international capital flows, financial markets, and energy markets are becoming more volatile, the multilateral trading system has been severely impacted, and global structural reform issues are prominent. At the same time, competition among major powers is becoming increasingly fierce, international hotspot issues are heating up, and destabilizing and uncertain factors in the international situation are significantly increasing. The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference should build an open and inclusive discussion platform for all participants, and also send a clear message to the world to build a consensus on global governance.
